Jeffery Wall currently serves as Director of Choral Studies at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where he is also the Chair of the Department of Music. He conducts the University Singers and the University/Community Chorus. He conducts a professional-level chamber choir headquartered in Broken Arrow, OK called Vox Solaris. He came to NSU from Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS where he was the Elmer F. Pierson Distinguished Professor of Music. He served as Co-Chair of the Music Department and Director of Choral/Vocal Activities at Bethany. He conducted several student choirs, and the Bethany Oratorio Society for the annual Messiah Festival of the Arts. Dr. Wall conducted Handel's Messiah and J.S. Bach's Passion According to St. Matthew annually. Additionally, he has teaching experience in choral pedagogy and conducting, applied voice, and other vocal music classes.
Dr. Wall is in demand as a conductor, teacher, clinician, and adjudicator. He has experience in collegiate, high school, professional, community, and church settings. He has served as Visiting Director of Choral Activities at Georgia State University in Atlanta and Director of Choral & Vocal Activities at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM.
He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree from the University of South Carolina, M.M. from The University of Tennessee, and a B.M. from Texas Tech University.
Wall has recently presented interest sessions for the Kansas Choral Directors Association, Oklahoma Choral Directors Association, Arkansas Music Educators Association, The College Music Society, and the Southwestern Division of the American Choral Directors Association. He was a guest conductor with the Salem College Choir in North Carolina and led a tour with the NSU Chorus to Ireland in March 2019. In 2018, he led a tour through Dallas with the University Singers, dropping in at several high schools and churches. The tour revolved around the pinnacle performance as prelude choir for the North Texas Children's Choir at the Meyerson Symphony Center. February 2020 will bring a reprisal of this same tour. In June 2020, Wall will serve as guest conductor with MidAmerica Productions in NYC at Carnegie Hall. He will conduct a mass chorus on the Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs and Haydn's Te Deum.
